She was a reporter for The Washington Post nearly a decade, covering Grand Slam Tennis and Grand Slam Football, as being a basketball reporter at numerous Olympics. Nichols was hired by ESPN in 2004 and stayed for 9 years at the network, earning the network two Emmy Awards. Her duties with TBS included baseball and golf coverage, as well as Final Four broadcasts by CBS. This is only the second nomination for the honor for a female from the more than 200 nominees contestants.
