Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's Best Songs. She released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Based on an interview she did with Rap Up, this track had lots of significance for a lot of the listeners who related to her tale of learning to accept and love your self. Cara's music often contains positive thoughts about mental health, and how important it is to love yourself. All of it is a result of her personal experiences as she struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. Reuters stated that she calls the album "half tumultuous, half perfected". Therapy helped her grow and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. The guitar was gifted to her by her parents after she turned 10 which ignited her musical passion. A few years later, at 13 she began performing her favourite songs through YouTube a major media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she was talented and determination to develop into a singer. Sweater Weather was her most popular cover. An album label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
