The singer released her debut single Here in 2015 when she was aged 19. The single was a hit and received praise from critics and listeners alike. The song reached the top spot on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of the year. The same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five songs she wrote that made it to the Billboard charts. In her interview with Rap-Up fans discussed Cara's struggle to find self-love as well as the doubts she faced. Cara is famous for including songs about mental health, compassion and self-love in her music. Everything stems from her personal experiences as she suffered from mental health problems as well as insomnia. Reuters stated that she calls her album "half tumultuous, half perfected". The singer says that she found her growth in therapy. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian musician since 1996. Her parents are of Italian heritage. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar, which was the starting point of her musical passion. After three years, at 13 she started singing her most loved songs through YouTube.
